Heat Exchangers

An Iron Shell Tube Heat Exchanger (commonly known as a Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger, or STHE) is a robust, industrial-grade device designed to transfer heat between two different fluids—a liquid or gas—without them mixing. It consists of a large, often carbon steel or cast iron cylindrical, pressurized “shell” that contains a bundle of smaller tubes. One fluid (often the process fluid) flows inside the tubes (tube-side), while the other fluid (often the coolant or heating medium) flows around the tubes within the shell (shell-side).
